“As Governor, my top priority is continuing Governor Northam’s work to get Virginians the care they need and the good jobs they deserve.”
(Woodbridge, VA) – Today, Del. Jennifer Carroll Foy released the following statement on the historic passage of the American Rescue Plan, which delivers immediate relief to working families in the form of $1400 stimulus checks, funds the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, supports small businesses, schools, state and local governments, and more:
“The COVID-19 crisis has made the past year long and difficult for so many families, and has exposed the inequities that have persisted just beneath the surface. I am grateful for the leadership of state officials like Governor Northam who have worked tirelessly to protect lives and livelihoods since day one of the pandemic. As Governor, my top priority is continuing Governor Northam’s work to get Virginians the care they need and the good jobs they deserve as we build a post-COVID economy where every Virginian has the opportunity to thrive.”
“Today’s historic legislation provides much-needed relief for working families and small businesses across our Commonwealth who have been suffering. From direct stimulus payments and extending unemployment benefits, to funding the distribution of the vaccine and supporting small businesses, this bill goes a very long way toward beating the virus and rescuing our economy.”
“As a working mom, having worked the minimum wage, and gone without healthcare, I have faced the same challenges working families continue to face, and am ready to wake up and fight every day to build on this progress and ensure we leave these dark days behind us.”
Del. Carroll Foy’s top priority is fighting the COVID-10 crisis and bringing diverse, high-paying jobs to every corner of the Commonwealth. Carroll Foy’s economic recovery plan is both pro-business and pro-worker. As Governor, she will fight to ensure Virginia remains the best state in the nation to do business while diversifying our economy and lifting up workers, so every Virginian has an opportunity to thrive.
